Power BI

The Power BI block embeds a Power BI report into a Portal page. Portal filters can be automatically applied to the embedded report.

Before using Power BI blocks, the Power BI integration must be configured. See the Power BI Setup guide.

Add a Power BI Block

Add a new block to a page and select Power BI from the block type list.

Configuration

  • Workspace - Select the Power BI workspace (group) containing the report.
  • Report - Select the specific report to embed.
  • Filter Tables - A comma-separated list of table names in the report where Portal filters should be applied.
  • Apply filters to slicers - When checked, Portal filters are applied to report slicers instead of standard Power BI filters.

Filtering

Filtering is two way with Power BI blocks. Two checkboxes in the block editor control each direction, both checked by default:

  • Allow this block to filter other Portal content - pushes filter changes made inside the embedded report out to the rest of the page.
  • Allow other Portal content to filter this block - applies Portal filters to the embedded report (using the Filter Tables and Apply filters to slicers settings above).
